The hipster alleys and street art of Friedrichshain – PART I

Today a visual diary of Chapo and me conquering Friedrichshain, one hipster street at a time. Most of the photos are shot at RAW Gelände, the massive city block next to the station hub of Warschauer Str., near the Spree.

The space consists of lots of old industrial buildings that all have been transformed into nightclubs, second hand shops and vegan restaurants. It’s an organised chaos over there with some anti-establishment outcries, creative outcasts and thousands of shattered bottles (it was seriously ‘the floor is lava’ for Chapo, poor thing – so learn from my mistake, doggie owners!). Exactly what you expect to find in Friedrichshain.

You can wander around this playground for adults for quite a bit and enjoy some insane stuff too; such as the indoor skate park and a fairytale like climbing wall. But the best reason to come here perhaps is because of the street art. Or the booze, because “Kein Bier vor vier” doesn’t apply in here.

Stay tuned for the next gallery about the street art in Friedrichshain!
